U.S. Army Fort Sam’s Own 323d Army Band performs in the Battle of Flowers parade in San Antonio, Texas, May 2, 2025. This parade began in 1891 and is the founding event of Fiesta San Antonio. This parade commemorates the victory of San Jacinto and pays tribute to Alamo defenders. Fiesta is known as the “Party with a Purpose” and includes events that showcase San Antonio’s rich military history and appreciation with parades, festivals, exhibits, athletic activities, music, dancing, and food.
