U.S. Army 1st Lt. Alma Cooper, Miss USA 2024, rides in the Battle of Flowers parade on the Army float in San Antonio, Texas, May 2, 2025. This parade began in 1891 and is the founding event of Fiesta San Antonio. This parade commemorates the victory of San Jacinto and pays tribute to Alamo defenders. Fiesta is known as the “Party with a Purpose” and includes events that showcase San Antonio’s rich military history and appreciation with parades, festivals, exhibits, athletic activities, music, dancing, and food.
