NEWPORT, R.I.— A U.S. Naval War College (NWC) student asks questions during a lecture on space as a warfighting domain by Gen. Stephen N. Whiting, Commander, U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM), onboard Naval Station Newport, RI, Apr. 01, 2025. The lecture discussed how USSPACECOM, working with Allies and partners, plans, executes, and integrates military space power into multi-domain global operations in order to deter aggression, defend national interests, and when necessary, defeat threats. Established in 1884, NWC informs today’s decision-makers and educates tomorrow’s leaders by providing educational experiences and learning opportunities that develop their ability to anticipate and prepare strategically for the future, strengthen the foundations of peace, and create a decisive warfighting advantage.
