U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 3rd Wing at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, team up with the French Army New Caledonia to unload an Aérospatiale SA 330 Puma Helicopter from a C-17 Globemaster III during exercise Croix du Sud at Hihifo Airport in Wallis and Futuna, April 28. Exercise Croix du Sud 25 is a joint and multinational flying training exercise organized and led by the New Caledonian Armed Forces. Multinational exercises like Croix du Sud 25 increase the armed forces’ ability to work together across the military spectrum to respond to crises, support the local population, and accomplish the mission. Joint and multilateral exercises strengthen relationships and increase interoperability with allies and partners through shared experiences and tough, realistic training.
