U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 3rd Wing at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, team up with the French Army New Caledonia to unload an AƩrospatiale SA 330 Puma Helicopter and other cargo from a C-17 Globemaster III during exercise Croix du Sud at Hihifo Airport in Wallis and Futuna, April 28. Exercise Croix du Sud 25 is a joint and multinational flying training exercise organized and led by the New Caledonian Armed Forces. The 374th Airlift Wing and 3rd Wing conduct air operations in a multinational environment and enhance security relations with key partnering nations by demonstrating U.S. resolve to support the security and humanitarian interests of friends and allies in the region, increase regional capacity for managing regional disaster and crisis events, and enhance partnership and interoperability between U.S., France and surrounding Oceania countries.
