Cpl. Matthew Healy, an infantryman assigned to 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (LI), watches the race leaders before the start of the Col. William O. Darby 40-Miler Ranger Challenge at southern Lake Garda, Italy, on April 30, 2025. Established in 2010, the event honors Col. William O. Darby and 25 Soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division who died while attempting to cross Lake Garda during World War II, on April 30, 1945.
