Maj. Gen. Thomas H. Mancino, adjutant general for Oklahoma, listens to the reciting of letters from Holocaust survivors and members of the 45th Infantry Division who liberated the Dachau Concentration Camp on April 29, 1945 during a ceremony honoring Soldiers of the 45th at the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site in Dachau, Germany on April 29, 2025. During the ceremony, members of the Oklahoma National Guard, 45th Infantry Division Association, a Holocaust survivor and a member of the 20th Armored Division who assisted in the liberation, as well as members of the Bavarian Memorial Foundation and the Comité International de Dachau, unveiled a plaque honoring the Soldiers of the 45th Infantry Division for their role in liberating the camp on the 80th anniversary of the camp’s liberation.
