Twenty Army National Guardsmen from eight states Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands participate in the 7.5 mile ruck march portion of the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (GAFPB) of the Region Three Best Warrior Competition (BWC) held at South Carolina National Guard's McCrady Training Center (MTC), Columbia, South Carolina, April 25, 2025. The Region Three BWC 2025 is hosted by the South Carolina National Guard from April 21 through April 26. The BWC is open to all National Guard enlisted Soldiers who qualified through their state. During the regionals competitors must negotiate various military challenges to test individual combat skills and doctrinal knowledge. On the fifth day of the Region Three BWC 2025, Soldiers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, and the U.S. Virgin Islands completed the GAFPB 7.5 mile ruck march, the shooting portion of the German Armed Forces Marksmanship Badge, expert in competition shooting and night urban rifle marksmanship (URM).
