A T-38 Talon assigned to the 560th Flying Training Squadron departs for the 215th Freedom Flight at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, April 10, 2025. Aboard the T-38 Talon is retired U.S. Navy Capt. David J. Carey, the 215th Freedom Flyer, who was shot down over North Vietnam in 1967 and spent nearly six years as a prisoner of war. The Freedom Flyer program honors former U.S. military aviators held in captivity with a symbolic final flight. Carey was flown by U.S. Air Force Maj. Warren Kuhn of the 560th FTS.
