A formation of T-38 Talons taxis in preparation for a Missing Man formation as part of the Freedom Flyer program at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, April 10, 2025. The five-ship formation includes four aircraft for the flyover and a fifth to capture aerial imagery. The flight honors retired U.S. Navy Capt. David J. Carey, the 215th Freedom Flyer. Carey was shot down over North Vietnam in 1967 and spent nearly six years as a prisoner of war. The Freedom Flyer Program, conducted by the 560th Flying Training Squadron, offers former POWs a symbolic return to flight in a T-38 Talon. (U.S. Air Force photo by Jonathan R. Mallard)
