SASEBO, Japan (April 11, 2025) Seaman Rene Rodriguez Reyes from San Juan, Puerto Rico, assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22) is awarded USS San Diego (LPD 22) Blue Jacket of the Year, during a ceremony at Commander Fleet Activities Sasebo, April 11. The Navy’s Sailor of the Year program recognizes outstanding Sailors who best represent the ideals of the professional Sailor and the Navy. San Diego, part of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. U.S. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
