A local Vietnamese worker moves buckets around the wet-screen station during recovery operations in Vietnam, April 9, 2025. The recovery team excavated units in an active body of water, on a steep incline, and in erratic weather conditions during this iteration; several methods and unique pieces of equipment were used to mitigate delay in operations and safety concerns whilst working. Both the organic DPAA team members and the short-term individual augments, combined their knowledge and skills to propel progress in achieving the fullest possible accounting during the 50-day recovery mission. There are currently 1,573 missing U.S. personnel from the Vietnam War. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Morgan L. R. Burgess)
