Sgt. Eric Rodriguez, with Wounded Warrior Battalion West, throws the shot put during the 2013 Marine Corps Trials aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif., March 5. Rodriguez, 30, from Los Angeles, was injured by an improvised explosive device on an over-watch mission with Scout Sniper Platoon, 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, in Afghanistan, Jan. 27, 2011. Rodriguez earned the Silver medal for the sitting shot put event and was selected to participate on the All-Marine Warrior Games Team. The All-Marine Warrior Games Team will go head to head against the other branches of the Armed Forces May 11-17, at the Olympic Training Center and the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.
