North American Aerospace Defense Command CF-18 Hornets and F-16 Fighting
Falcons escort a New York Air National Guard LC-130 Hercules assigned to the 109th
Airlift Wing over the North Slope of Alaska, February 26, 2025. The F-16 and CF-18
exercised tracking and intercepting the LC-130 over the arctic. Bi-national operations
help NORAD fulfill requirements for timely and accurate information across all domains.
The on-going adaptation of NORAD’s mission and capabilities to meet the challenges
posed by ever-changing threats testifies to the strength of the NORAD Agreement and
