Leonard Bailey, assigned to 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (LI), uses a bag valve mask (BVM) to simulate providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on Pfc. Stanley Desville, a role-playing training casualty, during Exercise Gothic Sentinel at Camp Ethan Allen, Vermont, Feb. 21, 2025. Bailey instructed Soldiers on properly compressing the BVM every five seconds to assist breathing in emergencies where tracheal intubation is not possible.
