Brig. Gen. James Lukeman, the commanding general, 2nd Marine Division, presents 1st Lt. Jim Nash, the 2nd platoon commander with Bravo Company, 2nd Tank Battalion the Purple Heart Medal, March 6, 2013. Nash was the recipient of two Purple Hearts that day. One for wounds received from a mortar attack and another for wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device while deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
