James Lukeman, the commanding general, 2nd Marine Division, while the citation for Conner’s Purple Heart Medal is read. Conner received the award for wounds received from a roadside bomb that destroyed his truck, while deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
