A U.S. Army soldier in ACU (Army Combat Uniform) is playfully interacting with children in what appears to be a school or community center hallway. The soldier is holding a blue MacGregor basketball high above his head while two children attempt to grab it, all appearing to be laughing and having fun. A third child and an adult are visible in the background.

Spc. Joeseph Schattenkerk, a native of Rochester, Vt., and a combat engineer for the 2-3 Brigade Special Troops Battalion “Titans”, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, is tackled by a couple of students at the Richmond Hill Elementary School, Feb. 26. The Soldiers and students are participating in just one of the many activities held during the Jump Rope For Heart event held at the school today and the day prior. According to the American Heart Association, “Jump Rope For Heart is a fun event where you can jump rope, learn about your heart and how to keep it healthy, while raising money for the American Heart Association.” If you would like to help them or any other team raise money for the American Heart Association, go to www.heart.org/jump and search for your team and donate today!
