Pfc. Carl Hayes, 108th Quartermaster Company, 530th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 82nd Sustainment Brigade, gives the shut-off sign to the pump operator during the refueling of a U.S. Navy UH-60 Sea Hawk helicopter while Pfc. Eric Snider prepares to remove the hose nozzle Feb. 21 at Fort Pickett. The procedure, called a hot refuel because fueling takes place while the aircraft's engines are still running, took place during the Southbound Trooper exercise held Feb. 17-23, 2013, designed to increase interoperability between Canadian and U.S. forces and strengthen bonds between the two countries.
