Chock and chain handlers from the amphibious dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry remove the restraining chains from a CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter from the "Dragons" of Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 265. Harpers Ferry is part of the Essex Expeditionary Strike Group. The Essex ESG is steaming to support a potential humanitarian assistance / disaster relief tasking in the wake of Cyclone Nargis. Essex is the lead ship of the forward-deployed U.S. Expeditionary Strike Group and serves as the flagship for Combined Task Force 76, the Navy's only forward deployed amphibious force commander. Task Force 76 is headquartered as White Beach Naval Facility, Okinawa, Japan, with a detachment in Sasebo, Japan.
