A MH-60S Knighthawk helicopter from the "Island Kights" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 transports commander, Amphibious Force 7th Fleet, Rear Adm. Carol M. Pottenger to her flagship the amphibious assault ship USS Essex from the amphibious dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry. Harpers Ferry is part of the Essex Expeditionary Strike Group. The Essex ESG is steaming to support a potential humanitarian assistance / disaster relief tasking in the wake of Cyclone Nargis. Essex is the lead ship of the forward-deployed U.S. Expeditionary Strike Group and serves as the flagship for Combined Task Force 76, the Navy's only forward deployed amphibious force commander. Task Force 76 is headquartered as White Beach Naval Facility, Okinawa, Japan, with a detachment in Sasebo, Japan.
