Lt. Gen. Kevin D. Admiral, III Armored Corps and Fort Cavazos Commanding General, addresses the crowd during the 2024-2025 Wreaths for Vets ceremony at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, Texas, 30 Nov. 2024
The annual Wreaths for Vets ceremony honors those who have served in the military with the placing of handmade wreaths for each and every person laid to rest in the cemetery.
“There are veterans here who have served in every war from World War I through the War on Terror and wore every rank from Private to General.” says Lt. Gen. Admiral. “We honor not just these service members but their families who make their service possible.”
Lt. Gen. Admiral and other veteran affairs leaders escorted wreaths to the OEF/OIF Monuments site to place a wreath with each monument. Afterwards, hundreds of family members, friends, and fellow service members attending took wreaths to the resting places of loved ones and those they wished to honor until each headstone was commemorated.
