Cpl. Kevork Khachadurian, native of Miami, bumps the ball during sitting volleyball practice for the 2013 Marine Corps Trials at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Feb. 28, 2013. Khachadurian lost both his legs above the knee in an improvised explosive device blast in Sangin, Afghanistan in 2011. Khachadurian plans to compete in sitting volleyball and cycling at the Trials. The Trials is an opportunity for wounded Marines, veterans and allies to compete in wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, track and field, swimming, archery and shooting. The top 50 athletes will go on to compete against wounded warriors from the other branches of military service at the Warrior Games in Colorado Springs, Colo., in May.
