Spc. Rafael Cervantes and Pfc. Rodrigo Gutierrez, both soldiers from the 1010th Engineer Company, 130th Engineer Battalion, check for hidden compartments on cargo containers as one of their tasks during the state mobilization. Citizen-soldiers from the Puerto Rico National Guard, alongside inspectors from the PR Internal Revenue Service, contribute to war against organized crime by inspecting cargo shipped into the island. These inspections are part of the joint mission Operation Task Force Secure Front, in which PRNG troops provide support to several local, federal and state agencies. According to Brigido Lozano, inspector for the PR IRS, the number of inspections has tripled since Jan 15, 2013, when the combined effort started.
