A simulated patient is decontaminated in a tent during a bilateral Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear exercise during Keen Sword 25 in Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 29, 2024. Decontamination stations were set up and run by both JGSDF and U.S. service members to create a diverse and cohesive team. Keen Sword is a biennial, joint and bilateral field-training exercise involving U.S. military and Japan Self-Defense Force personnel, designed to increase readiness and interoperability while strengthening the ironclad U.S.-Japan alliance.
