Gunner’s Mate Seaman Apprentice Johnny Rodriguez Claseca, from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, assigned to weapons department’s gunnery division, fires a shot line from a fueling station aboard Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) toward Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Shiloh (CG 67) during a fueling-at-sea while underway in the Pacific Ocean, Oct. 19, 2024. As an integral part of U.S. Pacific Fleet, U.S. 3rd Fleet operates naval forces in the Indo-Pacific in addition to providing realistic and relevant training necessary to flawlessly execute our Navy’s timeless roles of sea control and power projection.
