The 47th Flying Training Wing's emblem. The color blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations, and yellow to the sun and the excellence of personnel in assigned tasks. The primary mission of the wing is to take young men and women, as symbolically represented by the branch, and train them into fully qualified pilots. The golden wing represents the striving of the students to attain that goal, while the lightning bolt, bendwise of the design, emblematically represents the successful accomplishment of that mission.
