U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Water/Wastewater expert Cory Koger traveled to the Town of Spruce Pine, North Carolina October 3. The focus of the visit was performing assessments at the town water/wastewater and sewage plants to determine the extent of the damage and assist with the path to recovery.
He met with Town Manager, Darlene Butler, and Mayor Phillip Hise, and discussed how to provide critical aid to these facilities. This mission is only a part of the larger Infrastructure Assessment mission that USACE is executing all across Western, NC.
