Spruce Pine Caption U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Wilmington District commander Col. Brad Morgan and USACE Water/Wastewater expert Cory Koger made it to the Town of Spruce Pine, North Carolina October 3. Their efforts were focused on performing assessments at the town water/wastewater and sewage plants to determine the extent of the damage and assist with the path to recovery.
They met with Town Manager, Darlene Butler, and Mayor Phillip Hise, and discussed how to provide critical aid to these facilities. This mission is only a part of the larger Infrastructure Assessment mission that USACE is executing all across Western, NC.
