The German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge is awarded to soldiers who complete a series of physical and military skill tests. The 100-meter swim portion must be completed within four minutes while in uniform. After swimming 100 meters, participants must tread water while removing their uniforms and throw them onto the pool deck to complete this test portion. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Sgt.
