The wife of Command Sgt. Maj. James Hughbanks, incoming command sergeant major of the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, is welcomed with a bouquet of yellow roses during a change of responsibility ceremony on Sept. 5, 2024, in Zagan, Poland. Yellow roses are traditionally given to the family of new command team members during ceremonies as a symbol of new beginnings and family unity. Command Sgt. Maj. Hughbanks will serve as the brigade's senior enlisted advisor for the remaining duration of the 1st Cavalry Division's rotation in Europe, supporting Operation Assure, Deter, and Reinforce.
