From the September 7, 1956 edition of Service to the Fleet, Rear Adm. Logan McKee served as the 78th Shipyard Commander from 1953 until 1956. Upon departing, he stated: “the people of the community have supported us, and the newspapers have been most kind.” He and his wife regretted leaving Norfolk Naval Shipyard and vowed to return to visit.
