U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District Park Ranger Megan Parson, and her team of volunteers restored a grass field at the W.P. Franklin recreation area with native plants. Dozens of tiny little snails cling to the native grasses and plants in the field.

Volunteers planted nearly 9,000 native pollinator wildflowers and grasses at the W.P. Franklin Recreation Area during Pollinator Week in late June 2023 in the second phase of plantings to reforest an 8.5-acre open field as part of the Engineering with Nature Program.
