A U.S. Marine with 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, provides suppressive fire during company attacks as part of Service Level Training Exercise 5-24 at Range 400, Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California, July 25, 2024. SLTE 5-24 is purpose built to train, develop, and validate the Infantry Battalion Experiment as part of a larger Marine Air-Ground Task Force operation as a Stand-in Force across a contested multi-domain distributed environment. ITX enables units to mobilize geographically dispersed forces for potential future deployments, increase combat readiness and lethality, and exercise Marine Air-Ground Task Force command and control of battalions and squadrons across the full spectrum of warfare.
