Pfc. Ian Larson of Melrose, Wis., a gunner with King Battery, 1st Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment loads an artillery round into a M109A6 Paladin Self-Propelled Howitzer on Forward Operating Base Warhorse, Diyala province, Iraq, on April 22. King Battery which is on its fifth month of 15-month deployment has fired more than 4,800 rounds, only 400 rounds less than the most rounds ever fired during from an artillery battery in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
