Rebecca Laher and Cheryl O’Keefe, research and development engineers from private industry, discuss collected data during an acoustic sensor demonstration at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Aug. 1, 2024. During the demonstration the sensor measured altitude, range and bearing of the aircraft as it passed and created an acoustic signature on a spectrogram. The signature showed tracking of the aircraft’s velocity and direction which can help with early detection of opposing forces. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Dylan Myers)
