The forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) is moored pierside at Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo’s (CFAS) Yokose Fuel Terminal for refueling operations June 13, 2024. This was the first time that an amphibious assault ship had fueled at the Yokose Fuel Terminal since the construction of a new fuel pier there in 2022. For more than 75 years, CFAS has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services to empower forward-deployed U.S. and Allied Forces while providing superior support to their families and the community.
