Cmdr. Travis Storey, deputy chief of staff, Education and Training, Naval Medical Forces Atlantic (NMFL), outlines several points about trauma training requirements while Cmdr. David Antico (left), director of Education and Training for Naval Medical Forces Pacific (NMFP), and Cmdr. Joe Piñon (center), incoming Education and Training deputy chief of staff for NMFL, focus their attention to the discussion during a three-day Expeditionary Medical Warfighter Development Center scheduling event May 14-16, 2024. More than 40 Sailors and civilian representatives from Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED), Naval Medical Forces Support Command (NMFSC), NMFP, NMFL and subordinate commands throughout the regions gathered at the Admiral Kidd Catering and Conference Center, Naval Base Point Loma, San Diego, to plan and discuss requirements from basic phase training to execution plans to support expeditionary medical capabilities and enhance force readiness for fiscal year 2025. “There is no substitute to face-to-face interaction and subject matter exchange,” Storey said. The collaboration during the event “helped us unify our resources and look toward a common goal,” added Piñon. (U.S. Navy photo by Arsenio R. Cortez Jr.)
