    Idaho National Guard's largest unit 116th CBCT gains new commander

    The 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team held a change of command ceremony on May 17, 2024, at Gowen Field in Boise, Idaho, signifying the transfer of authority between outgoing commander Col. Eric Orcutt and the incoming commander, Col. Jason Gracida.

    Brig. Gen. Cole Packwood, assistant adjutant general – Army and commander, Idaho Army National Guard, presided over the ceremony, which included the passing of the colors and other customary military traditions.

    The 116th CBCT is the state’s largest National Guard unit and is located throughout the state in nearly two dozen communities with subordinate units in Montana, Nevada and Oregon. (U.S. National Guard photo by Master Sgt. Becky Vanshur)
