Senior Airman Roger Fortson is carried by a horse and carriage as the precession arrived at Lincoln Cemetery, May 17, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia. Senior Airman Fortson was 23 years old when he was shot and killed in an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Department deputy-involved shooting on May 3, 2024, at his off-base apartment. He was a special missions aviator with the 73rd and 4th Special Operations Squadrons. The incident is under investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
