U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Brian W. Cavanaugh, Commanding General, Fleet Marine Force, Atlantic, Commander, Marine Forces Command, Marine Forces Northern Command, center, conducts a briefing for students of the Marine Corps University Command and Staff College aboard Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Va., May 3, 2024. During the briefing, Cavanaugh answered students' questions, discussed command structure and relationships, and provided leadership guidance with an emphasis on "sustaining the transformation." As detailed in Marine Corps Tactical Publication 6-10A, the concept describes how to take care of Marines through the five phases of the transformation process: recruitement, recruit training, cohesion, sustainment, and citizenship.
