Anne McCarthy is a research microbiologist the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center, Construction Engineering Research Laboratory's Chemical/Synthetic Biology team in the Materials and Structures branch. She's working on her project, "Insect antennae for odorant-driven real-time decision processing," which basically means their antennae will help identify and sense chemicals in an area. Anne and her cockroaches are more than just officemates, they are friends too!
