YOKOSUKA, Japan (April 12, 2024) Sailors assigned to the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), pose for a photo with retired Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Vice Adm. Seiichi Doman, president of the U.S.-Japan Navy Friendship Association (JANAFA), and family after receiving an award for the promotion of friendship and mutual understanding between the U.S. Navy and JMSDF, during the JANAFA Annual Reception in Yokosuka, Japan, April 12. JANAFA holds the annual reception to recognize U.S. Navy and JMSDF Sailors whose actions enhanced bilateral relationships between the sea services and within their local communities. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
