OXON HILL, Md. (April 7, 2024) - Robin Houston (left), the founder and director of FIRE Rocket Challenge, talks to students about the concepts of building, modifying, and launching rockets during the Sea-Air-Space Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) expo at the Gaylord National Hotel and Conference Center, Sunday. Participants had the opportunity to launch their miniature rockets at targets to test design and mechanics. FIRE Rocket partnered with the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) to connect STEM activities to elements of the real-world missions of commands like SSP.
