U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Phillip Roughton and Cpl. Cade Fritts clear a Mark 19 40 mm grenade machine gun at the Central Training Area, Okinawa, Japan on March 8, 2024. The Marines executed a live-fire range to increase their proficiency in landing zone denial ambushes in support of stand-in-force operations. Roughton, a native of Alabama and Fritts, a native of Tennessee are machine gunners with 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment. 2/7 is forward deployed in the Indo-Pacific under 4th Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division as part of the Unit Deployment Program.
