U.S. Marines fire an M2 machine gun at the Central Training Area, Okinawa, Japan on March 8, 2024. The Marines executed a live-fire range to increase their proficiency in landing zone denial ambushes in support of stand-in-force operations. The Marines are with 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines and are forward deployed in the Indo-Pacific under 4th Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division as part of the Unit Deployment Program.
