    U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Jacob Schrot, of the Michigan National Guard, fires the M17 pistol in the prone position during the the U.S. Army Small Arms Championships (ALL-ARMY), March 12, 2024, at Fort Moore, Georgia. The U.S. Army Small Arms Championships is a comprehensive live-fire training event that tests the ability of Soldiers and Airmen to employ both primary and secondary weapon systems, problem solve, and think critically under the stresses created by competition. Day two of the competition featured a rifle match with combat gear using only traditional iron sights and two pistol matches.

    The Michigan National Guard had two teams consisting of eight shooters that competed with teams from the Active Army, Army Reserves, U.S. Army or Air National Guard, Military Academies, College ROTC Cadets and OCS Candidates. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Daniel Garas)
