Retired Rear Adm. Park Chan-Geuk recounts with Rear Adm. Bill McQuilkin, Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Korea, of days spent under Adm. Arleigh Burke's mentorship while earning his Junior Officer of the Deck qualification onboard the heavy cruiser USS Los Angeles (CA-135). The Republic of Korea Naval Academy hosted a statue unveiling ceremony to honor Burke's contributions to the ROK Navy as well as his role in establishing the school itself.
