DJIBOUTI (March 6, 2024) - Chief Electronics Technician Gerald Sims of Maritime Expeditionary Squadron 10 (MSRON 10), assigned to Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, provides security for U.S. ships towed into port in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations, Feb. 9, 2024.
CLDJ port operations personnel ensure force protection by through a coordinated vetting process that includes host nation port workers and CLDJ assets, including MSRON 10. This coordination ensures that all foreign vessels are deemed secure before they are allowed to approach U.S. ships that visit Djibouti.
Camp Lemonnier is an operational installation that enables U.S., allied and partner nation forces to be where they are needed to ensure security and protect U.S. interests.
