DJIBOUTI (March 6, 2024) - Military working dog (MWD), Max, and his handler, Master-at-Arms 1st Class Torye Cugal, assigned to Camp Lemonnier’s Security Department, search a tugboat at the Port of Djibouti, Feb. 9, 2024.
CLDJ port operations personnel ensure force protection by through a coordinated vetting process that includes host nation port workers and CLDJ assets, including military working dogs. This coordinated effort ensures that all foreign vessels are deemed secure before they are allowed to approach the USS or USNS ships visiting Djibouti.
Camp Lemonnier is an operational installation that enables U.S., allied and partner nation forces to be where they are needed to ensure security and protect U.S. interests.
